OUR APPROACH

The trust strongly believes that People's Participatory Process (PPP) is an instrument to bring about sustainable development and seek participation of people in the development process. The people themselves should do identify problems, analyze, plan, formulate, implement and then internally evaluate the progress of activities.

Community Awareness Meetings:

Community awareness meetings in the village with the help of women society, youth's clubs and village authorities of the area are held regularly. The programs cover various topics such as first-aid, personal hygiene, community sanitation, prevention of diseases and treatment of various common health problems.

Intervention with Community Leaders:

Counseling sessions are held with community leaders in which problems related to community health will be discussed. The team of medical staff supported by community health workers will provide them counseling on relevant health issues.

Health Counseling to Women & Adolescent Girls:

The organization provides counseling to women and adolescent girls on reproductive and child health issues.

Consolidation of women:

Holding of effective and efficient training programmes for development of entrepreneurship activities of women.

Community Mobilization against AIDS:

The organization conducts campaigns among women against AIDS by holding special awareness camps. In these campaigns, awareness is built on safe sexual practices and reproductive health.

Strengthening Immunization Program:

The organization provides support to strengthening of routine immunization program by way of strengthening of training of health volunteers.

Handloom Units:

Society from time to time organizing various training programs for rural tribal women including training in designing of traditional design and after completion of training program the required seed assistance all used to provide for creation of self employment.

Animal Husbandry Development Program:

Piggery and fishery farming were the main projects and the society is providing training and resources including funds to the people to empower their life.

Emergency Response:

The State of Assam suffered huge losses due to the destructive rains and resultant floods. Manthan took a multi-phased approach to disaster relief: relief, reconstruction and rehabilitation. We focused on rehabilitating livelihoods of those affected and supplying them with food, clothing and safer shelters.

FUTURE ASPIRATION:

MEDICAL FACILITY IN RURAL AREAS:

Hospitals and medical facilities in all the northeastern states are primarily located in the state capitals. The District headquarters in each state also have medical facilities, which do not function properly due to lack of Doctors, equipment and funds for medicines. Therefore the bulk of the population living in the rural areas and villages located in the interiors which poor communication facility is deprived of health care support . The Trust aspires to set up excellent medical facility in these interiors and ensure that the people are not deprived for the advanced medical technology.
