The Manthan Charitable Trust was established by Mrs. Laxmi Goswami along with her two Children in the year 2004 for improving village and community life by facilitation people self help initiatives which the Trust got registered in the year 2004 under the Indian Trust Act. The idea of setting up the Trust emerged out of confrontations and challenges posed by various interrelated problem of our society. Today Manthan Charitable Trust functions as a concrete organization to focus on the study of problems from grass root levels and seek ways and means in solution to them. Its interest is drawn to the rural areas where marginalized are living who suffered various forms of oppression and deprivation.

The Trust started in the field of rural development activities since its inception for the benefit of the poor people to improve their living conditions. The Trust created with the belief that as a Non Governmental Organization sensitive to the need aspirations, capabilities and potential of rural upliftment efforts. The Society believes that it can help in strengthening the economic, educational, social and cultural efforts that are vital to progress human advancement and understanding.

Manthan Charitable Trust is committed to work for the upliftment and comprehensive development of down trodden and neglected people of the remote and neglected villages in India particularly in the state of Assam at the moment. The problem of community health and drug addiction and need of people participation to overcome the problems among the common areas are also issues of grave concern. Although in a nascent stage, Manthan Charitable Trust is gradually and confidently moving each day to achieve its objectives.

The trust is also involved in activity creating peoples awareness about the problem of community health and drug addiction and need of people participation to overcome the problems and among the common areas. The Society has 07 regular staff members who are trained in different fields like rural development, community health, environment and other management for strengthening the organization and making a genuine effort to embitter the lives of people.
